There are wedding days where everything just feels aligned — the venue, the couple, the energy, and the way light moves through the space. This wedding at Farm Kitchen in Poulsbo, Washington was one of those magical days.
Farm Kitchen is tucked away on the Kitsap Peninsula, just outside of downtown Poulsbo. As a Pacific Northwest wedding photographer, I’ve shot in a lot of beautiful venues, but Farm Kitchen has a charm that feels both expansive and intimate. Between the lush gardens, the old walnut tree, the orchard, and the cedar grove, it’s a venue that offers endless backdrops for portraits and candid storytelling.
One of the things couples love most about Farm Kitchen is the on-site spaces for getting ready. The cozy cabins and guesthouse mean everyone can stay close without rushing around on wedding morning. For photographers, that also means I can move easily between partners and capture both sets of pre-ceremony moments — laughter with friends, quiet reflection, and all the little details.
The couple chose to hold their ceremony outdoors, beneath the walnut tree in the orchard. Guests gathered in a semicircle, which made the moment feel intimate and connected. The natural greenery framed the vows perfectly — no need for much extra décor when the backdrop is this stunning.
For me as a photographer, the light filtering through the leaves created that soft, glowing look the Pacific Northwest is known for. It was the kind of ceremony where you could feel the emotion in the air — tears, laughter, and smiles all around.
After the ceremony, everyone wandered into the cedar grove for cocktails. This space feels like a hidden forest tucked into the property. Guests mingled under towering trees while the couple slipped away for portraits in the garden. The golden light during cocktail hour at Farm Kitchen is unreal — it’s the perfect time to capture both candid guest moments and romantic couple portraits.
Dinner was served under the covered pavilion, with long tables decorated with seasonal florals and greenery that tied right back to the farm setting. Farm Kitchen’s open flow between indoor and outdoor spaces makes it easy to keep the celebration connected.
Once the sun dipped below the horizon, the dance floor came alive. The pavilion glowed with string lights and laughter. As a photographer, I love when couples prioritize fun over perfection — this dance party was full of big smiles, messy moves, and joy that’s so easy to capture.
